Most Indian clinics call in a visiting doctor — an orthodontist, implantologist or oral surgeon — for some treatments, usually on a share of the fee. iDentist.Live lets the clinic share just that treatment with the doctor, works out the share from what the patient actually paid, and keeps payments clear on both sides.
Add the doctor by mobile number, choose them on a treatment, and only that treatment is shared — with X-rays and photos, but never the patient’s phone or address. The doctor gets their own free workspace with cases, clinics, payments and reports.
Why visiting doctors need their own space
Braces and aligners can run for two or three years with a visit every month. Implants and surgery come in stages. The visiting doctor needs to see each case’s history and pictures; the clinic needs to know what it owes; and nobody wants to rebuild it from WhatsApp messages and a notebook.
A visiting doctor is not clinic staff. In iDentist.Live they are a linked partner: they never see the clinic’s other patients, books or settings.
How sharing works
- Add the doctor. Administrator → Clinic Members → Add → Visiting Doctor: mobile number, name, speciality and a default share (for example 50 %). It links by that number, whether the doctor joins iDentist.Live before or after.
- Choose them on a treatment. In the patient file, pick the visiting doctor as the treating doctor for that procedure. Only that treatment becomes a shared case.
- The doctor sees just enough. Name, age, gender and medical alerts; the treatment, teeth, visits, notes and payments for it; and the patient’s X-rays and photos. Never the phone number or address.
- Notes flow back. The doctor adds a note for each visit, and it appears in the clinic’s patient file under that treatment. The clinic stays the owner of the file.
- Pay and confirm. The share is worked out from what the patient paid for that treatment. The clinic pays in Expenses → Visiting doctors (one, or all owed cases at once); the doctor taps Confirm received.

The doctor’s own workspace
The visiting doctor gets a free workspace of their own (Add workspace → Visiting doctor):
- Dashboard: linked clinics, patients, running and finished treatments, this month’s visits, and the share earned, paid and still to come.
- Cases: every shared treatment, running first, with visits, notes, X-rays and payments.
- Clinics: what each clinic paid and still owes.
- Reports: by month, clinic or treatment — print, PDF or CSV.
Fair money, clearly shown
The share follows real payments: if a patient has paid ₹ 40,000 of a ₹ 60,000 aligner treatment and the share is 50 %, the doctor has earned ₹ 20,000 so far. Refunds lower it again. Only clinic admins see share percentages and amounts; staff see the cases, visits and notes.
If a treatment is cancelled, the patient’s details and pictures are withdrawn from the doctor — only the payment record stays, so the money still adds up.

A real example
A clinic’s orthodontist visits every second Saturday. Each braces patient is a shared case. Before the visit, the doctor opens Cases on a phone to see who is due, reads last month’s notes and checks the new X-ray. After each patient, they add a short note. At the month end, the clinic opens Expenses → Visiting doctors, sees exactly what is owed for which patients, and pays by UPI; the doctor confirms it. No arguments, no lost notes.
Try it in the demo
The free demo has a Visiting Doctor choice: a made-up orthodontist linked to the demo clinic, with running braces and aligner cases, monthly visits, notes and payouts. Open it next to the demo clinic to see both sides of the same case.
